Client Profile

This company is an innovative SaaS company that's pursuing a goal to empower IT professionals and students all over Africa. They build platforms that create effortless collaboration to work on IT projects, and they do this no matter the distance, culture, or technology. This SaaS case study highlights how the company transformed IT education and collaboration across Africa.

Challenge

The client identified a significant gap in Africa’s IT education and career development ecosystem. Although there is significant growth potential in Africa, many of the aspiring IT professionals faced challenges that hindered their growth and opportunities to collaborate. The main challenges were:

  • Lack of access to current IT learning materials – Students were unable to find current and reliable resources to keep them aligned with industry and technologies.
  • Lack of cross-country collaboration platforms – Few systems enabled students, teachers, and practitioners to make connections and collaborate across different African countries, limiting true cross-border collaboration.
  • Cultural and regulatory differences – Language, cultural diversity, and regulatory differences were obstacles to easy collaboration.
  • Limited mentoring opportunities – Students had no structured guidance or relationships with professionals who could help mentor their professional development.
  • Gap between academia and industry – Many students had some theoretical knowledge, but very limited exposure to project-based learning and digital skills training.

The client wanted to create an educational digital collaboration platform that filled these gaps, created empowerment for IT learners and educators, and provided an opportunity for an active and collaborative cross-border IT education community across Africa.
